Dr. Angel Garcia PhD., MPsych., GMBPsS., CPsychol., PCAP., SFHEA., BSc (Hons), BA.
A lifetime dedicated to understanding and supporting parents and children globally
For nearly 20 years, my work as a psychologist specialised in child development and child psychology, has taken me across three continents — Asia, Europe, and America — lecturing and conducting research in the field I love the most, psychology. This has deepened my understanding of families in a global context and understand how culture shape not only our behaviour, but also parenthood and parenting strategies. After completing my PhD at the University of York's Psychology in Education Research Centre, I knew that my true calling was to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and the real, often overwhelming, challenges of daily family life. I am a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society, BPS), Member of the American Psychological Association (APA), a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a member of the Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA) among others.
My approach is rooted in scientific evidence but delivered with warmth. I don't just offer strategies; I offer a partnership. I am the leading editor of a book on transitions published by Springer Nature, and my research focuses on what you care about most: children's voices, emotional wellbeing, and parental happiness. I've shared this expertise as a governmental advisor in Latin America, and shared my research and expertise with UNESCO, and in media outlets like the BBC, Newsweek, and The Conversation. But the feedback that matters most comes from the parents and global teams I've had the privilege to support.
I have authored and co-authored a number of scientific papers published in scientific peer-reviewed journals as well as books and book chapters. I am also a peer reviewer for different scientific journals and my research findings have been disseminated widely at international conferences including the US, Greece, China, Hong Kong, Spain, France, England, Mexico, Scotland, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland and elsewhere.
You don't need generic advice. You need a plan that respects your child's unique development and your family's specific values by a cross-cultural competent psychologist. You also need a professional that helps apply psychological research in actual scenarios with your Global Teams. That's what I'm here to provide.
Our practice delivers elite, evidence-based support tailored to the two most critical windows of human development: the foundational socio-emotional years (0–7) and the high-stakes transition of adolescence (12–17).
Beyond the Therapy Room: Global Expertise at Your Service
My work extends far beyond one-to-one sessions. I am an international expert in designing and delivering workshops and seminars for organisations and professionals worldwide. This experience, combined with my background as a university scientist, means I bring a unique blend of academic rigour, evidence-based research and practical, solution-focused clarity to everything I do.
Elite Professional Credibility: Work directly with a member of the BPS, APA, AdvanceHE and EECERA who has been awarded three teaching excellence awards over a long career as a scientist.
Eclectic Therapeutic Arsenal: Your family is unique; we do not force a one-size-fits-all model. We combine evidence-based counselling strategies deeply rooted in the principles of Cognitive Science, Behavioural Therapy, CBT, ACT and Psychodynamic principles for a truly bespoke support.
Global Research Authority: Our practice is informed by two decades of delivering psychological training worldwide, conducting cross-cultural research and presenting my empirical research findings across four continents and publishing my research in international peer-reviewed journals.
Online-First Convenience: High-level online psychotherapy and mental health coaching delivered directly to you, wherever you are in the world.
